Ghana is the main area of glass bead manufacture in Africa. African craftsmen first collect the glass bottles and break them into pieces. After that, the glass fragments are milled into powder. The powder is put into stove for several times to become glass beads then. The glass beads are drawn in special patterns with different colors. Finally, they can be strung together to be necklaces or bracelets. Africans will wear the glass bead accessories in different occasions, such as festivals, weddings, funerals, celebration of child birth, adult ceremonies etc.
